FINALLY!!!!!!
1. What are your favorite tools you now have in your personal technology toolbox? Briefly describe a particular activity that you will plan for your students using at least one of these new tools.
Discovering the different free applications that are offered for the itouches is something that was very useful to me. Knowing that my students will have to opportunity to use these in the classroom will be extremely beneficial. There were many apps that dealt with vocabulary and spelling.I have always been able to find different games for other subjects such as math and science but hardly some for language arts. There were many I saw that I will definitely be using.
2. How have you transfomed your thinking about the learning that will take place in your classroom?
Doing this really opened my eyes to the different options that I have as a teacher to help my students. We are going away from textbooks and paper/pencil method. This no longer interests our students or keeps them attentive. Trying all of these methods will be challenging but useful in the end.
3. Were there any unexpected outcomes from this program that surprised you?
Yes, How interesting I actually found it. I thought it was just going to be another training but now that I am finished I can see how I can truly use this in my classroom and how much my students will enjoy learning so much more!

Tool #11
We have all read and seen on the news different situations
where students have been bullied by others through technology.
Teaching my students above anything else would be how to
properly use the internet. Not to mis use it but to use it
as a tool that will enhance their education. There are so
many ways to help improve the way they learn but it needs to be done properly. It would be beneficial for them to see me using some
of the tools I have learned first correctly and then allowing them
to try it for themselves. They need to know that in order to keep
using the computer, apps, etc. they need to earn this and that at
any time if misused can be taken away.

Tool #10
1. Alphabet Tracing
One thing that I like to do with my students is buddy up
with younger classes. It builds up their self confidence
when they become the teacher. With this app. they can buddy
up with a pre-k class becoming beneficial to both classes.
2. Advanced Vocabulary by Brainscape
Brainscape helps you learn over 2,000 vocabulary words and
their roots. This will be extremely beneficial for my students
especially when it comes to their writing.
I can see my students using the itouch as a center.
There are so many different educational applications
that they can use to help them in their learning.
One video I saw had a student playing a spelling game.
My students always have a difficult time spelling but
by using their itouch, it makes it more of a game than
work even though they are learning :)

Tool #9
Sometimes just words are not enough...Jing would be very useful in the classroom whenever I am trying to give directions with projects. Instead of just telling them what I want the final result to be. I can show them the procedure that I need them to use and what the final project should look like.
Skype is something I use to communicate with family in El Salvador. I never thought about using it in the classroom as well, but why not. I have friends in different parts of the world. How amazing would it be to have them communicate with my class. Also they could skype with other friends in other schools within the district.

This video shows students what a real Tsunami looks like.
It also gives them a real world connection.
I would use this video to introduce my unit on Natural disasters.
This is just one example of how I would use it for a particular subject.
I know that my students are looking up videos on YouTube all of the time.
It would be great to show them that there are educational videos as well that they could be looking at instead of just mindless videos they often
watch.

Teacher Tube helps me look at how other teachers teach different subjects.
In this case I searched for 4th grade Science and was able to see how this particular teacher handles different objectives.

Tool #6
Wikis are something that my class could use and we could show that information on the activ boards for the class to see. This can be used in writing, especially when we come to learning about listing. As I was watching the video I did think of several lessons that I have done before where I could use Wiki instead and engage my students more just by using technology.
